    "IMPEACHMENT UPDATE" =PLEASE HELP=SIGN=

Note: If the link doesn't work, please copy and paste it into your browser.

Each week we try to highlight the most urgent pressing policy issues
with focus on the ones we're supposed to win, and can win, if only we
mobilize enough people to speak out.

We are asking all of our participants to make it part of their weekly
routine, to call their members of Congress on one of the tested
    working toll-free numbers 800 828-0498, 800 614 2803 or 866 340 9281,
and/or also to follow up by submitting the email action pages below
    that you feel strongly about.

    1) No Retroactive Immunity For The Telecoms

    Action Page: http://www.usalone.com/no_telecom_immunity.php

Coming to a head quickly will the fight to beat back the corporate
lobbyists seeking to grant all the law breaking telecoms retroactive
immunity. At the moment there are two different versions of a bill to
update the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

The one passed by the Judiciary Committee does not grant retroactive
immunity to all the telecoms for possibly spying on Americans without
warrant, but the one passed by the Intelligence Committee does.

It is critically important that the Senate start off on the correct
foot by bringing forward the version that does NOT grant unwarranted
retroactive immunity to the telecoms, for their unwarranted caving in
to the Cheney White House on rule of law. Not only would blanket
absolution of wrongdoing set a bad legal precedent, they still will
not tell us what the telecoms actually did.

Qwest, who refused to collaborate with the Cheney White House
criminals, knew right from wrong when they refused to break the law.
Congress needs to compel the rest of them to come clean, not signal
"Congressional acquiescence in an illegal course of conduct."
Senators Feingold, Dodd and others have declared they are prepared to
filibuster if necessary to make sure the law remains the law, and we
need to voice our support in that.

    2) Don't Let The FCC Lock In Media Monopolies Forever

    Action Page: http://www.usalone.com/stop_media_consolidation.php

    Facebook Version:
    http://apps.facebook.com/fb_voices/action.php?qnum=pnum738 (must be a
member of Facebook at www.facebook.com and logged it)

Already more than 18,000 of our participants have submitted the
action pages above, which also sends your personal comments to all
five of the FCC commissioners. We only have until Dec. 11 to register
our vocal opposition to allowing even further control of our national
media resources to the same insufferable, unaccountable corporations,
who have trivialized our policy debates and suppressed the real news
at the direction of the Cheney White House.

The determination of the current FCC chairman Martin to plow ahead
with a complete unraveling of any kind of meaningful regulation in
the waning months of the 8 years of unmitigated greed, must be
countered with the voices of the real people, that's us, telling them
"no mas". Congress is preparing to consider S.2332, the Media
Ownership Act of 2007, which would stop the FCC fast one in its
tracks. Please make a particular point of speaking out in favor of
this true bipartisan bill while there is time before the deadline.

    3) Grounds For Cheney Impeachment Mount Day By Day

    Action Page: http://www.usalone.com/hres333.php

    Facebook Version:
    http://apps.facebook.com/fb_voices/action.php?qnum=pnum709 (must be a
member of Facebook at www.facebook.com and logged it)

It seems like every day there is a new revelation, sometimes two,
demonstrating the urgency of getting on with impeachment of the Vice
President. Monday, the New York Times reported that the new National
Intelligence Estimate concludes that Iran is nowhere close to having
a nuclear weapon, and in fact is believed to have mothballed any such
    program.

But still, Cheney has been out there pounding the drums louder and
louder for an attack on Iran, just exactly the way he intervened to
cook the intelligence books to con the American people into invading
Iraq in the first place. This time he did not get away with the
deception. But the fact that he tried is impeachable enough, and just
emphasizes the necessity of holding him accountable for all the
horrendous damage to our national security he has already done, by
removing him from office immediately, and Constitutionally.

If you have already submitted the action page above, please do it
again, because our members of Congress need to hear from us again and
again on this. If not, please make your voice heard. There is no
telling what kind of stunt Cheney may yet pull unless Congress
confronts him directly, working with rogue elements in Israel to
launch an Iran attack anyway, as he is reported to have done, or
other malfeasance. And only your impact, joining with your fellow
constituents to speak out will force Congress to act on this one.

A Note About The Facebook Versions:

What we have done by creating a Facebook version of all action pages
is open up the possibility of engaging their entire member base of 50
million in direct policy activism. At the current time, as noted
above, you must be a Facebook member AND logged in to use the
Facebook version action links. If you are not already a member you
can go to www.facebook.com and register. Or must keep using our
regular action pages. We'll always be there for you.

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at

    OUT OF IRAQ & IMPEACH =PLEASE HELP=

    America Cannot Afford Bush's "Success"

Remember when Bush declared "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq? Now he's calling Iraq a "success."

Bush whined, "It's unconscionable to deny funds to our troops in harm's way because some in Congress want to force a self-defeating policy, especially when we're seeing the benefits of success."

    The "benefits of success"???

Bush's "success" unleashed chaos that murdered 1 million Iraqis and drove 4 million more out of their homes into desperate poverty. Bush's "success" created a sectarian Shia government that ethnically cleansed Baghdad of Sunnis and Christians and corruptly lined its pockets with our tax dollars. Bush's "success" killed nearly 4,000 brave young Americans and maimed tens of thousands more, both physically and mentally, leading to 120 veterans' suicides each week. Bush's "success" broke our military, corrupted our intelligence agencies, and embraced torture as official U.S. policy.

Bush's "success" empowered Osama Bin Laden and handed half of Afghanistan back to the Taliban. Bush's "success" empowered dangerous dictators in Russia, Pakistan, Burma, Iran and Venezuela. Bush's "success" increased global terror and hatred of the United States.

Bush's "success" wasted $500 billion on Iraq, with trillions more to come. Bush's "success" added $4 trillion to our national debt and trillions more in future debts. Bush's "success" drove the price of oil from $16/barrel to nearly $100/barrel, and tripled the price of gasoline from $1.06 to $3.11.

America - and the world - cannot afford any more of Bush's "success."

Impeachment: Congressional Silence = Constitutional Death

Bush signed an agreement with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki for permanent bases in Iraq, in defiance of the explicit opposition of both the U.S. Congress and the Iraqi Parliament. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

Bush issued his first signing statement since Democrats won Congress, and gave himself the right to steal all the money he needs to invade Iran. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

Bush knew a year ago that Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003, but threatened World War III with Iran just weeks ago. Yet Congress is utterly silent

Bush formally advised a British Court last week that he is fully entitled to kidnap foreigners (i.e., Britons) off the street around the world for any reason at all and carry them off to secret prisons. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

Bush's former press secretary Scott McClellan admitted he lied about the role of Scooter Libby and Karl Rove in destroying the career and urgent work of Valerie Plame. Libby was sentenced to 30 months in prison but Bush commuted his sentence under orders from Cheney to shut Libby up. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

Bush rehired Iraq War Criminal Paul Wolfowitz as chairman of the International Security Advisory Board. The Board includes Robert Joseph, who put the Niger Uranium Big Lie in Bush's 2003 State of the Union, and ex-CIA director James Woolsey, who helped mega-liar Ahmed Chalabi defraud the U.S. into a $1+ trillion disaster. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

Bush is still contemptuously defying dozens of subpoenas. Yet Congress is utterly silent.

The people are not silent. Impeachment activists continue to organize from coast to coast. In the northeast, 60-year-old John Nirenberg is marching along Route 1 from Boston to DC to see Nancy Pelosi, and needs your support along the way. In the West, Los Angeles activists will protest at the Rose Bowl parade on January 1.

And Rep. Dennis Kucinich is not silent. He continues to advocate impeachment everywhere he goes.

    OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH "GONE"!!!

Dear friends, Please read the following and be sure to watch the video at the bottom of this important message. PLEASE forward this to all you know. Its imperative that people know whats going on. Thank you for your time!! Ron G.

The end of Free Speech in America has arrived at our doorstep. It's a new law called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and it is worded in a clever way that could allow the U.S. government to arrest and incarcerate any individual who speaks out against the Bush Administration, the war on Iraq, the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency (including the FDA). The law has already passed the House on a traitorous vote of 405 to 6, and it is now being considered in the Senate where a vote is imminent. All over the internet, intelligent people who care about freedom are speaking out against this extremely dangerous law: Philip Giraldi at the Huffington Post, Declan McCullagh at CNET's News.com, Kathryn Smith at OpEdNews.com, and of course Alex Jones at PrisonPlanet.com

This bill is the beginning of the end of Free Speech in America. If it passes, all the information sources you know and trust could be shut down and their authors imprisoned. NewsTarget could be taken offline and I could be arrested as a "terrorist." Jeff Rense at www.Rense.com could be labeled a "terrorist" and arrested. Byron Richards, Len Horowitz, Paul Craig Roberts, Greg Palast, Ron Paul and even Al Gore could all be arrested, silenced and incarcerated. This is not an exaggeration. It is a literal reading of the law, which you can check yourself here: http://thomas.loc.gov/home/gpoxmlc110/h1955_rfs.xml

    The bill states:

‘...ideologically based violence’ means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual’s political, religious, or social beliefs...

Note that this means the "planned use of force to promote a political or social belief" would be considered an act of terrorism. This all hinges on the definition of "force," of course. Based on the loose use of logic in Washington these days, and the slippery interpretation of the meaning of words, "force" could mean:

    • A grassroots campaign to barrage Congress with faxes
    • A non-violent street protest
    • A letter-writing campaign that deluges the Senate with too much mail
    • A sit-in protest that blocks access to a business or organization
    • A grassroots e-mail campaign that overloads the e-mail servers of any government department or agency.
